The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) remains in segment 1 of the National Oversight Framework (NOF) ratings. Out of 134 acute NHS providers assessed, we secured the seventh highest score nationally, an improvement from ninth place in the second quarter.
The NHS Oversight Framework (NOF) rates NHS organisations in England against a range of metrics that cover waiting times, treatment outcomes, patient safety, patient experience, people and workforce, and finance and productivity.
The latest results are based on how organisations performed in Q3, the third quarter (October, November, December) of 2025/26.
There are 4 segments:
1 – High performing
2 – Above average
3 – Below average
4 – Low performing
Our latest rating is an improvement on Q2 (July, August, September) mainly due to more positive performances on both sickness absence and productivity when compared to other NHS Trusts. We received the highest possible rating for effectiveness and experience, people and workforce, and patient safety.
The NOF ratings were first launched in September 2025, based on performance in Q1 (April, May, June) of 2025/26. Ratings are updated every three months and published on a national website.
Not all metrics apply to every organisation. For example, only hospitals with emergency departments are scored on A&E waiting times. Some metrics are based on whether an organisation is achieving targets in the plan it agreed with NHS England for 2025/26.
Joan Spencer, Chief Executive of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, said:
“Achieving a consistent position among the leading acute trusts during this challenging time is no small accomplishment. The National Oversight Framework assesses performance across various measures, including quality, patient & staff feedback, and value for money.
“This rating reflects our consistent high standards. It’s something that really sets us apart and makes a huge difference to patients every day.”
