Our Group 

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust operates as part of a Group that also includes our subsidiary companies and our joint venture.

Our subsidiary companies can operate like commercial organisations but they are wholly-owned by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. 

This means that all profits go back to the NHS, benefiting our patients and the services we provide. 

PharmaC  (subsidiary)

PharmaC is the trading name for Clatterbridge Pharmacy Limited (CPL), our community pharmacy and logistics subsidiary. PharmaC provides our on-site pharmacy dispensing service where patients collect their medication. It offers health advice, prescribed medicines and over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a pharmacy delivery and logistics service. PharmaC was established in 2013.

PropCare (subsidiary) 

PropCare is the trading name for Clatterbridge PropCare Services Limited, our estates and facilities subsidiary. PropCare provides expert project, estates and facilities management across our sites. They manage estates-related capital developments and building work for a range of NHS clients, as well as overseeing day-to-day services including cleaning, portering, catering and security and managing our contracts with external providers. PharmaC was established in 2016.

Clatterbridge Private Clinic (joint venture)

Our private clinic provides outstanding care for patients who choose private treatment. It is recognised by all the major insurers and has superb facilities in our Liverpool and Wirral cancer centres. Clatterbridge Private Clinic is a joint venture between The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and The Mater Private in Ireland – profits are reinvested back into our NHS services. The clinic was established in 2013.

Hosted services

Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance 

Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) leads local delivery of the national cancer strategy. It brings together organisations, patients and others affected by cancer to drive improvements in clinical outcomes and patients’ experience of the care and treatment they receive. We host CMCA on behalf of our partners in Cheshire and Merseyside.

Cheshire and Merseyside Diagnostics Programme 

Cheshire and Merseyside Diagnostics Programme is one of the key workstreams agreed by Cheshire and Merseyside Acute and Specialist Trusts (CMAST). We host the programme on behalf of our partners in CMAST and the health and social care system. The programme includes all types of diagnostic tests such as pathology, imaging, endoscopy, screening programmes, cardiorespiratory and physiological measurements relating to patients of all ages.

Health Procurement Liverpool (HPL) is a shared service for procurement and purchasing at Alder Hey, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and The Walton Centre. Find out more about HPL.

Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) provides laboratory and pathology services for hospitals across Liverpool. Find out more about LCL

Liverpool University Hospitals (LUHFT) is the main acute hospital trust for Liverpool. They provide a range of services at CCC-Liverpool including chaplaincy, our switchboard and acute medical and surgical support. Find out more about LUHFT

RVS runs the café and shop at CCC-Wirral. It is a national charity that supports hospitals and healthcare settings as part of its work. Find out more about RVS

VINCI Facilities is our hard FM (facilities management) and estates partner at CCC-Liverpool and Paddington Community Diagnostic Centre. Wirral University Teaching Hospital is the acute hospital trust for Wirral. They manage Clatterbridge Diagnostics day to day – a partnership between The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Wirral University Teaching Hospital. Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre

The Liverpool Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) is a collaboration between Clatterbridge, Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre and scientists and researchers at The University of Liverpool. It is part of a network of 17 ECMCs across the UK, funded by Cancer Research UK, which deliver clinical trials of promising new treatments. Prof Dan Palmer is the academic lead. Biomedical Research Centre

CCC is Associate Partner in a NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) with The Royal Marsden, in London, and the Institute of Cancer Research. CCC is progressing five themes within the BRC: Immunotherapeutics, Precision Diagnostics and Cancer Evolution, Advanced Technologies for Cure, Precision Therapeutics and Cancer Treatment Effects and Survivorship. Clinical Research Facility

The NIHR Liverpool Clinical Research Facility (CRF) is a collaboration between CCC, Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) to raise the level of early phase research. The collaboration and was launched in November 2022 and has created shared training opportunities for nursing and medical staff involved in early phase research.
