If you live on the Isle of Man and are diagnosed with cancer, you will be referred to The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for any treatment you need apart from surgery – for example, if you need chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy or a stem cell transplant.
Our specialist teams work closely with health teams on the Isle of Man to plan and coordinate your care.
We do all we can to make sure you can have your appointments locally without needing to leave the Isle of Man. This includes:
- Offering video and telephone appointments with your consultant and other team members
- Arranging for you to have chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other cancer drug therapies in Noble’s Hospital, wherever possible*. Treatment is delivered by Noble’s Hospital staff following The Claterbridge Cancer Centre’s specialist treatment protocols
*If you are on certain cancer drug therapies, you will need to travel to one of our sites for face-to-face reviews during your treatment.
You will usually need to travel to Liverpool for radiotherapy, if you have a less common cancer, are on more specialist treatments or for clinical trials. Your health team on the Isle of Man will arrange this for you and can advise on travel arrangements and accommodation.
