From Monday 3rd April 2023, staff, patients and visitors will no longer be required to wear masks within The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

The safety of our patients, visitors and staff continues to be our primary concern and as such we will continue to monitor local and regional rates of respiratory infection, and may need to alter our guidance in response to any increased risk for our patients and staff.

Infection prevention and control precautions, including wearing a mask, will remain when staff are caring for patients that are suspected or confirmed of having any respiratory viruses.

We recognise that this decision may cause concern for some, but please be assured that masks will remain available to patients, staff and visitors at the entrances to all our hospital sites should anyone wish to wear one.

If you wish for the staff member providing care to you or your relative to wear a mask, please feel free to ask them to do so.

If you have any concerns regarding this change in practice, please speak to your specialist care team for advice.
