We have been notified of major roadworks taking place on Mount Road outside Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral and the wider Clatterbridge Health Park.
This is likely to affect travel to and from our Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral site. We recommend leaving extra time for your journey.
- The roadworks have started today (17 June 2026) and are likely to continue for several weeks in different phases.
- There is currently no left turn out of the Clatterbridge Health Park site onto Mount Road.
- All traffic exiting the Clatterbridge Health Park must turn right, towards Starbucks.
- Traffic heading towards the Junction 4 M53 roundabout will need to turn right towards Starbucks and follow the diversion back up Mount Road in a single lane. The left hand lane will be closed and blocked off - you will not be able to turn left out of the hospital site and use that lane.
We have been advised that this phase of the work and current diversion could take up to 2 weeks.
After that, there will be more road or lane closures and diversions in place for subsequent phases of the work.
There is likely to be further work later this year as the M53 bridges are due to be replaced.
