A collaboration between the Trust and The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity on our Inpatient Refreshment Service has been shortlisted for the Partnership Working to Improve Experience category by PENNA (Patient Experience Network National Awards).

During the first national lockdown in March 2020, our teams identified a need to support our inpatients who were not able to receive visitors. Thanks to the The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, the Trust was able to provide inpatients with goodies, activity packs, reading materials and refreshments to keep them entertained and to allow them to enjoy some home comforts.

Now, the service has diversified into our Patient Refreshment Trolley, run by our in-house caterers Blackburne House to allow inpatients the opportunity to buy themselves a few treats as well as have a chat with Lesley, who often runs the trolley.

Lesley says "I love doing the trolley service and really enjoy having a chat with our inpatients when I visit."

Wish us luck for the final judging in September!
