During this time, we understand many of our patients may be worried or anxious about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and what this may mean in regards to their cancer and cancer treatment. As a Trust we have taken action to ensure patients' safety and reduce the risk of them catching coronavirus while continuing to care for them – further information on this and a video message from our Medical Director, Dr Sheena Khanduri, can be found here.
To help support people look after their mental wellbeing during the coronavirus outbreak, Public Health England’s Every Mind Matters, which offers authoritative, evidence based and practical support, has specifically launched a range of new tips and advice. There are lots of things we can all be doing to look after our own mental health and help others, to prevent these feelings from becoming more serious.
Every Mind Matters has been developed in partnership with clinicians, academics and leading mental health charities to offer support to the general public, as well as people with specific mental wellbeing concerns.
The range of new Every Mind Matters resources have been designed specifically to help manage our mental health during coronavirus and includes:
- A tailored coronavirus Mind Plan
- Coronavirus specific content for individuals and their loved ones
- Support for specific mental wellbeing issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood and trouble sleeping
Their Royal Highnesses’ The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are supporting the Every Mind Matters campaign and have narrated a powerful new short film which is set to be broadcast across National TV channels from Monday 20th April.
An accessible version of Every Mind Matters' '10 ways you can help to improve your mental health and wellbeing' is available here.
