A Clatterbridge patient has made a video to promote Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, speaking about his amazing progress with a ground-breaking clinical research trial.
Adrian Taylor has featured on regional news and in the national press about the pioneering treatment he is receiving at the Trust and now he has helped to promote the Charity by telling the story of his cancer journey in a video.
A year ago, Adrian was told his cancer was terminal but now he is looking forward to Christmas with his family after being part of the trial, led by CCC’s Professor Christian Ottensmeier.
Adrian says: “It was my second cancer diagnosis, and despite months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it had spread to my lung and was growing rapidly. It was devastating. I’d been given the all-clear on my first diagnosis, but this time I was told that without treatment, there was a ‘100% chance I would die’ and it hit me like a ton of bricks.
“It suddenly wasn’t about me anymore, it was about what my family were going to do without me. This clinical trial was the last chance saloon from my point of view. I was staring death in the face, so I took that chance and I’m glad I did. It’s saving my life.”
