Our ground-breaking research into cancer vaccines at Clatterbridge has been featured on BBC TV, national and regional radio with a patient describing his remarkable improvement while taking a pioneering therapy.
CCC’s Director of Clinical Research, Professor Christian Ottensmeier, was interviewed on BBC’s Radio 4 along with our patient Adrian Taylor speaking about a clinical trial involving a cancer vaccine that has given him hope for the future.
Professor Ottensmeier also told BBC Radio Merseyside's Helen Jones about his ground-breaking work on the drive time show during the programme's NHS 75 celebrations.
Adrian’s cancer in his lung was thought to be untreatable but he is showing remarkable progress on the trial, which is researching a pioneering treatment that trains the body’s own immune system to tackle the cancer.
Prof Ottensmeier is leading the trial and cancer vaccine studies at Clatterbridge and the story was highlighted on BBC North West Tonight here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTXyu_W7px4
He and Adrian were also interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme. You can listen to the interview here: https://youtu.be/tB-IGzSmHGc
