Who can make a referral

All medically-qualified hospital doctors with GMC registration can make a referral for an MRI scan. If you are a resident doctor, the consultant in charge of the patient should be identified as being the referrer.

Non-medical referrals from outside The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre must provide evidence to the MRI department of their training and confirmation of NMR permissions before they refer a patient.

All referrers must comply with the procedures and criteria set by CCC, and restrictions may be imposed on individuals if these are not followed.
