Trio of musicians playing clarinet, viola and cello in hospital

Our music programme entertains patients, families, staff and visitors with regular performances and a programme of music-making activities. Listening to music has been found to have benefits for people going through cancer treatment, including reducing adverse side-effects.

We work in partnership with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic to deliver a programme of music-making activities across our hospitals.

Our musicians in residence from the Liverpool Philharmonic play, connect and make music with our patients in their rooms, on wards and in waiting areas at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool.

We have regular music ensemble performances by members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in public spaces across our centres.

Musicians from Live Music Now visit our centres on a regular basis to perform music, encouraging patients to join in by singing or making music with them.
