Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree (CCC-Aintree) is predominantly a radiotherapy treatment centre, but also runs a busy schedule of outpatient clinics, and a Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre offering patients additional support.
The hospital building is located on the Aintree University Hospital site.
Facilities
A beverage bay serving free tea, coffee and water is available for patients and their accompanying visitors. Restaurant facilities are available in the neighbouring Aintree University Hospital building and The Walton Centre building.
Accessible toilets are available.
A Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre is located in the main entrance.
Wheelchairs are available for patients to use inside the hospital.
Enclosed garden with tables and seating areas.
Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere in the building, in doorways or the external grounds.
We cannot look after or supervise children during your appointment.
There are no ATMs to withdraw cash in the hospital building.
Free wi-fi is available throughout the hospital.
Free parking is available for patients at the front entrance to the hospital.
There is a barrier at the entrance to the car park. Please use the intercom at the barrier for access.
The car park is for patients with appointments in the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree building on that day only.
If this car park is full, park in any other Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) car park on the site. Then give your licence plate number to the staff at the main reception desk in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree to validate your car for free parking.
The hospital is on the Aintree University Hospital site and is next door to The Walton Centre. The site is in Fazakerley, Liverpool. Fazakerley is north-east of central Liverpool on the A506, close to Junction 6 of the M57. There are good links to the M6 and M62 motorways.
There are no electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree car park but they are available in other car parks on the Aintree University Hospital site.
There are multiple pay car parks available on the site for people visiting the hospital for other reasons e.g. for business.
There are parking bays for Blue Badge holders at the hospital. Wheelchair users travelling with another driver can be dropped off in the ambulance bay at the hospital entrance. Vehicles can pull in to pick up / drop off but are not allowed to wait here.
There is a cycle rack outside the main entrance of the hospital.
Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree is also well served by public transport. The nearest train station is Fazakerley on the Merseyrail network with regular services to and from central Liverpool and Kirkby Station. Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Aintree is about 0.4 miles (0.6km) from Fazakerley train station.
Bus and train services change frequently – check the Merseytravel website for detailed information for Merseyside, including bus and rail timetables and a comprehensive journey planner.
If you are unable to make your own way to an appointment, hospital transport is available if you meet the eligibility criteria. You will need your NHS number to be able to book transport – this can be found on your hospital letters.

Please note that we need at least two working days’ notice if you wish to use this service and you must contact this number if your scheduled transport arrangements are changed or delayed so we can re-arrange your treatment appointment.
