Dr Karen Whitmarsh

Dr Whitmarsh completed registrar training in Leeds Teaching Hospital after graduating from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1993. She joined The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2005.

Dr Whitmarsh specialises in gynaecological cancers, treating uterine, cervical and vulval cancer using radiotherapy, brachytherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

She has an interest in the education of specialist registrars in clinical oncology; she is a clinical and educational supervisor and a member of the Trust’s medical education faculty. Dr Whitmarsh chairs the annual review of competence progression panel in her role as training programme director, also writing registrar job plans and arranging the protected teaching programme.
