Prof Isabel Syndikus

A consultant in clinical oncology at Clatterbridge since 1996, Prof Syndikus studied medicine in her home country of Germany and undertook her postgraduate training in Glasgow, Norwich, Cambridge, and the Royal Marsden and University College hospitals in London. She also completed a research fellowship in Canada.

Prof Syndikus specialises in radiotherapy for haematological malignancies (lymphoma, myeloma and leukemia) and urological malignancies (bladder and prostate cancer). She is the lead clinician for urology and has extensive experience in clinical trials; she is chief investigator for the phase III prostate radiotherapy trials (PIVOTALboost and CHHiP).

Prof Syndikus is the Trust’s Director of Medical Education and is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
