The Information Standard

The quality of information we give to patients has been recognised as reliable and trustworthy by the Information Standard.

The Information Standard helps people to make informed choices about their lifestyle, conditions and treatment/care options, by providing a recognised and trusted quality mark that indicates a reliable source of health information.

In order to attain the accreditation we had to pass a rigorous, independent assessment of our patient information production processes and content against a set of standards approved by NHS England.

The standards ensure that our patient information leaflets are:

  • Accurate
  • Impartial
  • Balanced
  • Evidence-based
  • Accessible
  • Well-written

We hold responsibility for the accuracy of the information we publish and neither the Scheme Operator nor the Scheme Owner shall have any responsibility whatsoever for costs, losses, or direct or indirect damages, or costs arising from inaccuracy of information or omissions in information published on this website.

NOTE: Certification of existing TIS members has been extended under transitional arrangements to 31 July 2019 and after that date certification of all organisations ends.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre will cease to display The Information Standard logo on all newly created leaflets after this date and will remove it from current publications when they are revised.
