Getting started

There are two ways you can register for our Healthcare Communications portal:

  • When you get a text message with your next outpatient appointment details, or
  • By contacting us and asking to register for the Healthcare Communications portal. You should choose this option if you want to register and don't have an outpatient appointment coming up soon or if you previously opted out of receiving digital appointment letters.

Read the sections below to find out more and register to access your hospital letters and appointment details any time.

Text message

Screenshot of text message When we make an outpatient appointment for you, you will get a text message invitation to your digital appointment letter, with a link and a PIN code. The text message will come from NHS CCC and it will look like this image.

Image description:

The example text message reads: "This is an important text message from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust for [patient name]. Please login on your smartphone, tablet or PC using the following link with PIN [example PIN number] and your DOB. Thank you."

Using the link

Click the link (or copy it to your tablet or PC), enter the PIN code and your Date of Birth to read your letter. If you don't click the link within 48 hours – a paper copy will be sent to you in the post. (Read more about how to use digital letters for the first time.)

The link will also invite you to register for the Healthcare Communications portal so you can read your hospital letters and appointment details any time online.

Registering for the Healthcare Communications portal

When you open your digital appointment letter, you can also register for the Healthcare Communications portal.

You will be asked to create a username and password for your account. Then you will get a text message to let you know whenever a new letter has been added.

Once registered, you can read all of your letters – and find details of all your appointments – on the Healthcare Communications portal.
