Road closure affecting our Wirral site until March 2023

Posted 3rd November 2022

Picture from high angle showing the top of the hospital with a blue sky and signage saying CCC-WirralWirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) have informed us of a road closure on the Clatterbridge Health Campus in Wirral from Friday 4th November 2022 until March 2023 due to work to construct their new operating theatres.

Patients and visitors to our Wirral site (Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Wirral) should be aware of this. These roadworks do not affect our Aintree and Liverpool sites.

What this means

  • The road in and out of the Clatterbridge Health Campus is not affected.
  • When you enter the Clatterbridge Health Campus, head straight across the mini-roundabout and straight down towards Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Wirral (CCC-Wirral). The road straight down to CCC-Wirral is not affected.
  • However, there will be no through route around the whole Clatterbridge Health Campus due to a road closure elsewhere on the site.

Buses will enter the site in the normal way, head straight down towards CCC-Wirral and drop off outside the public vaccination centre. The empty bus will then turn around and pick up at CCC-Wirral and Cherry Tree House before exiting the site.

The bus turnaround route will be a one-way circuit and there will be strict ‘no parking’ enforcement on this circuit.

You may want to leave extra time for your journey as traffic on and off the site may take a little longer than usual due to the road closure.
