Wirral Mum Julie Shute was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer in August 2013.
For two years Julie underwent surgery, along with treatment and specialist radiosurgery here at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. Despite it being an incredibly difficult time, Julie and her family threw themselves into supporting the charity and helping other patients who were going through a similar journey.
It is thanks to charity donations, that during her illness Julie received new treatments, meaning she could make the most of the time she had with her family and live a longer, fuller life.
Julie tragically passed away in September 2015 at just 54 years old. During her treatment she told us “This cancer will ultimately take my life, but if I can help to save a life in the future then I want to do all I can”.
Her husband Andy continues to support the charity in her name, this film shows why the New Cancer Hospital Appeal is so important to him.
