I’ve worked in the NHS for almost 10 years, starting as an admin clerk in my early twenties working for the Betsi Cadwaldr UHB in North Wales. It became apparent that a career in healthcare was what I wanted to do, so I quickly began to work my way up the ladder and moved to The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2016 as Assistant Service Manager for Specialist Services, with my main role working within the Community team, supporting the delivery of a service which provides systemic anti-cancer treatments to patients in the comfort of their own home or workplace. I also support the administrative teams within the other fantastic specialist services across the Trust.
I can honestly say I’ve never loved coming into work until I started in this role at CCC and I believe it’s obvious to colleagues, patients, friends and family that I have a real passion and care for the work I do. Clatterbridge really is such a special place and seeing the hugely positive impact that home and workplace treatment has on our patients, is what makes me genuinely love my job and love coming into work each day. I work with the most amazing and supportive team who always go above and beyond for both patients and each other.
Supporting The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is so important and even more so during these difficult times. It aids in the funding of innovative projects such as Clatterbridge in the Community and enables the Trust to continue their work to enhance and improve patient care and overall experience. The Fairy Appeal is a brilliant way to both support the good work of the charity and celebrate someone special to you by naming a virtual fairy in their honour.
