Card Free Christmas

This Christmas we are asking you to go card-free to transform cancer care for people living with cancer throughout our region.

With 1 in 2 of us now being diagnosed with cancer, and our region having the highest rate of cancer in the country, our aim to transform cancer care, is needed now more than ever before. With the opening of our new hospital we’re well on the road to this and your support is helping us to get there.

This year has been, and continues to be, a very testing time for our staff and our patients. The need to protect people living with cancer, as well as support our staff as they strive to work through the expected backlog of cancer referrals is imperative.

However, with no events and very little active fundraising over the past few months it is anticipated that the pandemic will reduce our charity income by over £1 million. This will have a detrimental impact on the charities ability to support the outstanding cancer care and facilities for people being treated at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

By going card-free this Christmas, you can help us to continue to provide the exceptional care and pioneering treatments that Clatterbridge is highly regarded for. Your support is needed this year more than ever before.

It’s so simple to get involved and support our appeal, instead of sending Christmas cards, just follow these easy steps.

  1. Find a colleague or friend who would like to co-ordinate the appeal.
  2. Display the poster enclosed with this letter, and encourage everyone to add their special Christmas messages.
  3. Collect a cash donation or online donation from everyone using the enclosed gift aid form, instead of buying cards.
  4. Send your donations to The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Collecting Donations Online

This year it may be safer and more hygienic to collect donations on your own Just Giving page, to avoid collecting cash. We have a simple instruction sheet to help set up your Just Giving page. It’s also really easy to create a QR code to add on to your poster, making it even quicker for your friends and colleagues to donate.
