Jayne Shaw, Director of Workforce and OD

Jayne Shaw, our Director of Workforce and Organisational Development, will retire and leave The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in March 2025 after almost 40 years in the NHS.

Jayne joined the Trust in 2018 after more than 15 years in NHS executive HR roles including Alder Hey and hospital trusts in Greater Manchester. She has worked in the NHS since 1985.

Over the last six years at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Jayne has led and overseen the transformation of our Workforce and Organisational Development (Workforce and OD) team into a pivotal service that supports every aspect of our work and all our strategic priorities, including our determination to ‘Be a Great Place to Work’.

Speaking of her decision to retire, Jayne said:

I have absolutely loved working at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. It’s a very special place with a unique feel and an incredibly caring culture. The last six years seem to have flown by and it’s fantastic to have been part of Clatterbridge’s growth and development in that time with the new hospital in Liverpool alongside our other sites.

One of the most outstanding things about the Trust is the way everyone works together as one team, whether it’s making the most of a great opportunity or dealing with challenges. We have also always worked in partnership with trade union and staffside colleagues and I have really valued their support.

Chief Executive Liz Bishop said:

Jayne has been integral to The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre’s development over the last six years and has ensured we have a superb Workforce and OD service. The Workforce and OD team play an essential role in the Trust’s success, in supporting staff, and in celebrating people’s achievements not least through the Staff Excellence Awards that are now such a highlight of the year.

Jayne has also been a fantastic colleague and everyone will miss her when she retires.
