If you are a carer looking after a person with cancer and you have one or more long-term health conditions, please can you help with a research project into this?
This study, run by The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in conjunction with Liverpool John Moores University, explores the views and experiences of informal carers (such as a family member or friend) who have a long-term health condition and who provide support to a person with cancer.
People participating in the study – called ‘How is help to a person with cancer managed, when the person providing support has a pre-existing health condition/s?’ – will be invited to take part in up to three interviews with a researcher over a period of eight months.
If you would like to be involved, please follow the web link below to a digital form and fill in the details for the research team, so they can contact you. On that form, you will also find links to more information about the study.
Clatterbridge’s Dr Lynda Appleton, a Senior Researcher who is leading the study, said: “The main aim is to understand how informal carers manage their health and well-being when caring for a person with cancer.
“We are interested in the coping strategies and support systems used by informal carers on a day-to-day basis, and what, if anything, can be done to better support individuals. The findings from the study will help us to better support informal carers in their role.”
